IMPEN a radiophonic trilogy
Part 1: The tree where the wind lives (1991) Duration: 53’16
Part 2: Ubiquity (1993) Duration: 27'
Part 3: Kos (1995) Duration: 33’
The three parts of the trilogy represent three dreams each having the same man and woman as their focal points although the couple remain unnamed and anonymous.
1. The tree where the wind lives (1991):
In the first part, The tree where the wind lives the relationship between the two has disintegrated leaving the woman in a state of mental breakdown. The listener enters, so to speak, her mind and takes part in her mental condition in the form of an associative network. [The title is inspired by the Wayang Dewa Ruci, tall tree - nest of wind.]2. Ubiquity (1993):
In the second part Ubiquity, a murder mystery we once again meet the man (as detective and perpetrator) and the woman (as victim and instigator). The man relates as a monologue the elements of the murder and investigation.
3. Kos (1995)
The third part Kos represents the healing process in which that element which caused the shism between the man and woman becomes resolved. The island Kos was devoted to the god of healing Aesculapius and it was there that the ancient dream temples were built.
4. Merge (1997):
The Radiophonic Poem MERGE is a love poem with metaphysical elements. Its theme is the search for unity whether as an inner psychic whole or as a partnership/sexual union with a lover.
5. Les petites morts (1999):
Our fifth radiophonic poem.

Heimzucht (Arnhem 2011)
Tuig (rigging or scum) is the name of the new collection by Johanna Geels, which is published by Atlas. A title that breeds many associations and as such one of the better ones I have come across. Harness, ship's gear, long-haired tack (as in the poem of the same name), can easily be tied to thoughts that one can have about such a title and about anything and everything.
Heimzucht on a poem by Johanna Geels. (Dudok, Arnhem 2011) In a performance by Anna Fransen of Beeldend Theater Telder. Choreography Paula Walta.
